A leading processing plant in Rwanda is seekMaintenance Technician (Industrial Plant)ing a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth production through expert preventive and corrective maintenance in a fast-paced food processing environment.
Role Purpose
Working under the Processing Plant Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the “health” of the machinery. Your goal is to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the continuous operation of essential plant equipment while strictly adhering to biosecurity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations: Carry out troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs on conveyors, chillers, boilers, generators, and refrigeration systems.

Production Support: Ensure equipment availability and participate in efforts to improve reliability and reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).

Compliance & Safety: Strictly follow biosecurity protocols, hygiene procedures, and workplace safety rules (PPE).

Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all daily work, spare parts used, and equipment conditions.

Teamwork: Collaborate with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance and respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
Required Qualifications

Education: Diploma or Technical Certificate (A1/A2) in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, or Industrial Maintenance.

Experience: 1–3 years in industrial maintenance (Experience in food processing or manufacturing is a major advantage).

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical systems and the ability to read technical diagrams and manuals.
Skills & Competencies

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Physically fit and willing to work in cold or industrial environments.

High level of discipline and attention to detail.

Availability to work shifts, weekends, or emergencies.
