Akagera Aviation is officially recruiting dynamic, customer-oriented Airport Services Interns to join its Business Development Department. This internship is an exceptional opportunity for fresh graduates and final-year university students specializing in hospitality, tourism, or aviation management to launch a rewarding career in high-end aviation services and ground operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet & Greet and Passenger Facilitation: Welcome arrival and departure clients in a professional and courteous manner. Assist passengers through critical airport processes including immigration, security, and baggage collection. Escort VIP, corporate, and charter clients to private lounges, vehicles, aircraft, or designated service points. Coordinate transportation arrangements with drivers, respond to customer requests, and support visa facilitation and travel documentation processes.

• Lounge Operations & Hospitality Services: Prepare VIP lounges before client arrivals and ensure complete readiness. Monitor lounge cleanliness, organization, and presentation while maintaining the availability of refreshments, beverages, and luxury amenities. Welcome guests, monitor customer comfort, manage inventory replenishment, and collaborate with cleaning teams to maintain service standards.

• Airport Operations & Ground Handling Support: Support passenger movement coordination, airport facilitation activities, and baggage transfers. Assist with the issuance and distribution of airport access badges and permits, collect and verify required passenger documentation, and support charter boarding activities. Ensure seamless operational readiness during VIP visits and special operations.

• Cross-Divisional Support & Customer Engagement: Support Sales & Marketing activities during exhibitions, conferences, customer visits, and promotional events. Assist in relationship-building initiatives, share customer observations with the Airport Services team, and handle reservations and communications during peak operational periods. Promote teamwork and support the launch of new Akagera Aviation products and services.

• Reporting & Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate operational records, assist in preparing service reports, report customer feedback to supervisors, and actively participate in departmental meetings and training programs. Represent Akagera Aviation professionally at all times and perform other duties assigned by leadership.

Who We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, Travel Management, or a related field.

• Career Stage: Fresh graduates or final-year university students are welcome and encouraged to apply.

• Language Proficiency: Absolute fluency in both English and Kinyarwanda is required. Working knowledge of French is considered an added plus.

• Behavioral & Technical Skills:

  • A strong customer service mindset paired with outstanding professionalism.

  • Comfort and adaptability working within a fast-paced, high-pressure airport environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for engaging with VIPs, corporate travelers, and stakeholders.
