You will lead high-impact engagements focused on identifying emerging risks, strengthening enterprise-wide governance frameworks, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a technical leader within the Risk Advisory team, the successful candidate will own the following core mandates:

Advisory & Engagement Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to clients on internal controls and compliance matters, leading comprehensive GRC advisory engagements across multiple industries.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Facilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments, support the development of risk registers, and evaluate strategic, operational, financial, and emerging risks.

Governance & Control Design: Design and enhance governance frameworks, risk management policies, and compliance programs. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend practical structural improvements.

Compliance & Audit Support: Conduct rigorous compliance reviews aligned with laws and industry standards. Support external audits and regulatory inspections, while tracking the implementation of previous audit mitigation plans.

Strategic Reporting: Prepare high-quality risk reports, presentations, and mitigation recommendations for senior management, Boards, and governance committees.

Capacity Building: Promote corporate risk awareness through workshops and actively mentor junior Risk Advisory team members.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To deliver at the high standards expected by BDO’s diverse corporate client portfolio, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, or Risk Advisory services. (Experience within professional services, financial services, telecom, or highly regulated sectors is a massive advantage).

Professional Certifications: Holding specialized professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CPA, ACCA, ISO 31000, or ISO 37301 will be considered a strong added advantage.

Core Competencies: Proven expertise in enterprise risk management, compliance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and executing high-level project management. Exceptional analytical and report-writing skills are mandatory.
