Key Duties and Responsibilities
The selected officer will drive integrated support frameworks across two primary domains:
1. Student Counselling & Wellbeing

Psychosocial Support: Provide confidential individual and group counseling to students navigating personal, emotional, academic, or cultural adjustment challenges.

Risk & Crisis Intervention: Conduct formal risk assessments, coordinate crisis response interventions, and enforce institutional safeguarding protocols.

Wellness Programming: Design and launch campus-wide initiatives focusing on mental health awareness, stress management, resilience, and emotional intelligence.

Network & Referral Management: Build and manage reliable referral channels with external medical, psychiatric, and social service providers.
2. Career Guidance & Employability

Career Coaching: Deliver tailored career counseling to help students map action plans aligned with their executive aspirations.

Professional Readiness: Conduct intensive training covering CV/resume writing, cover letters, executive interview prep, networking, and personal branding.

Employer & WIL Engagement: Coordinate career fairs, manage employer networking events, and collaborate with industry mentors during Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) placements.

Alumni Tracking: Facilitate active alumni participation in institutional leadership talks and track graduate employment destinations to inform corporate reporting.
Required Profile & Qualifications
To support the rigorous demands of ASG’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) student body, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Career Development, Education, Behavioural Sciences, or a related field. (Holding a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Student Affairs, or Human Development is an added advantage).

Desirable certifications in career coaching, mental health support, safeguarding, or leadership coaching.

Work Experience: * Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, higher education counseling, career guidance, or youth employability services.

At least three (3) years of experience actively working with diverse, multicultural student populations (preferably within an international higher education environment).

Technical & Behavioral Fit: Expert understanding of career development theories, strong case management and documentation accuracy, absolute adherence to student data confidentiality, and deep empathy combined with customer service patience.
