Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operating under the direct supervision of the Library Manager, the chosen candidate will deliver comprehensive support across Reader, Technical, and Electronic Library Services. Core daily responsibilities include:

User Assistance & Reference: Guide and support students, faculty, and researchers in locating, navigating, and effectively utilizing complex physical and digital library resources.

Circulation & Inventory: Oversee daily lending services (check-in/check-out workflows), prepare incoming materials for circulation, and manage inventory control.

Cataloguing & Metadata: Create and maintain accurate bibliographic records using established cataloguing standards (e.g., Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal Classification) alongside MARC metadata encoding.

Systems Management: Maintain the Integrated Library System (ILS), ensure database data integrity, and manage prompt technical communications with external database providers.

Reading Room & Conduct: Supervise the reading rooms to ensure a quiet, conducive environment for study while enforcing standard institutional library policies.

Outreach & Literacy: Conduct orientation sessions for new cohorts, promote emerging e-library tools, and gather structured user feedback to drive continuous service improvement.
Required Profile & Qualifications
To meet the high academic integrity protocols of ASG’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) ecosystem, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

Educational Background: Basic knowledge of standard cataloguing, classification systems, and library IT applications is mandatory. Holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or Information Management is considered a distinct added advantage.

Work Experience: Two (2) years of prior experience working within an academic library or a closely related information environment is highly desirable. (Note: Formal internships or volunteer experience in library services will be actively considered).

Technical Proficiency: * Hands-on mastery of library management software (specifically KOHA, OPAC, or similar integrated systems).

Familiarity with digital resource platforms, e-library navigation, and basic metadata programming.

Strong command of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and office collaboration suites (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace).
